Characters for Monday's Forecast for Hareyakana-shi
Left: Strong dominant side. Right: Weak, reserved side. |
Mitsuru lives alone with her older brother in Japan in a small and unrecognized sea-side city called Hareyakana ("radiant" in Japanese).
Despite being a strong character, she battles with type 2 diabetes and an inner darkness.
Junichi Hara
Source |
Junichi, like his father, has the heart of a fisherman. He is a peaceful young man who loves the sea, and frequently reflects upon things while enjoying the simpler things in life.
As the sole guardian of his younger sister, Junichi has to bear the weight of their financial burden in order to support her education and pay the rent.
Masako Maeda
Enter Masako, who is every girl a female protagonist shouldn't be. She has a questionable morality, is apathetic, self-centered, disgraceful, and inflammatory. Otherwise, we can describe her as the love-able bitch. Masako is a homeless girl who illegally immigrated to Japan from China alone at a very young age. She was raised on the streets, which is primarily a cause for her uncultured personality. Masako is a boyish, heterosexual girl, making her all the most endearing.

Ellie Ann
Ellie Ann is the alien princess of an empire of warlike, shape-shifting aliens. Ellie is also an anime otaku and is scrutinized on her colony for her strong obsession. As a result of the scrutiny and general lack of interest in growing up to inherit the throne, she decides to leave the colony to live amongst the Earthlings. Unlike rest of the cast, she doesn't speak, but rather the occasional learned word, broken phrase, giggle, or grunt.
Ellie is canonically one of the strongest characters in the manga as she utilizes a modifiable battle suit that enhances her combat capabilities and provides structure to her specie's structure-less physique. She is funny, sweet, and innocent as a puppy and I will guarantee that even you would fall in love with her.
